Jisun and Pieter
Most sentimental moment
Before our first dance, Pieter gave a short speech introducing the song where he talked about how we first met, and that when a year later he saw a the chance to spend a bit more time with me, he did not let the chance go to waste.
Favorite part with friends and family
My dad escorted me down the aisle. The photo of him bringing me into the Grand Salon will remain one of my most cherished remembrances without a question.
How we personalized it
The music for our ceremony was a highlight for me. Since we have many friends who are classical musicians, I walked down the aisle to Chopin. It wasn’t our intention, but there were not a lot of dry eyes once the pianist began playing. Later on, my great friends and Eastman trained Opera singers Tom Lehman and Ashley Hill sang a gorgeous duet from West Side Story. It will always be one of our most cherished memories.
We went to Monte Carlo!

The happy couple
My husband wore an Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo with black patent lace-ups from J.M. Weston. He normally wears a big, masculine watch which wouldn’t have made sense for the occasion, so instead he wore my watch, a unisex Nomos Tangente with a very thin, sleek, minimal Bauhaus design.
I wore Ersa Atelier. I was looking for something classic, an all lace, tight fitting gown with long sleeves. I chose the dress after we’d seen the venue in September and this couture, creamy white wedding dress with delicate lace bodice detailing seemed to be the perfect fit to compliment the Grand Salon at the Shangri-La. The dress had three quarter sleeves and a high-neck line. I wore a sheer tulle skirt over the dress for the ceremony and took it off for the reception.

There was a beautiful marble fireplace that we stood in front of which had a huge flower arrangement all around it. We had candles lining the walkway, and the late afternoon light coming in from the huge windows created the most beautiful atmosphere. As I walked in, the bottom of my veil came dangerously close to a candle, which I nor my dad noticed, but one of our friends deftly got it out of the way and avoided disaster.
I have always loved garden roses. Not wanting to introduce too much color in so ornate a space, I asked for a mix of cream coloured flowers with just a little greenery. I imagined loose and natural bouquets with boutonnieres with classic, fluffy blooms. The florist in Paris delivered exactly what I wanted. Before the guests arrived Tory took us into the Grand Salon to show us the settings and the arrangements, and they were spectacular.

The reception was at the same venue, only it was indoors! The dance party was huge – and we loved every minute.
