Eileen and Nick

Most Sentimental Moment

We decided to write down private vows and exchange them before the ceremony. We each stood behind a door so we wouldn’t see each other and it was a very emotional, quiet moment between just us two.

Favorite part with friends and family

Our friends love to party! So much so, one of our guests actually split his suit pants down the back. Needless to say, we dropped it low all night long.

Biggest surprise

My father and I were so excited to make it down the aisle that we actually missed it! We turned too soon and made a bit of a shortcut. It resulted in lots of laughs and set the tone for our not-so-serious ceremony perfectly.

Our traditions

My mother handed down my grandmother’s wedding ring to me. I wore it on my right hand for the entire day. We also had my cousin officiate! His mother (my aunt) had no idea until she saw him walking down he aisle and it made for a pretty funny surprise.

How we personalized it

Nick and I had a shotski made with our names on it, and it was well used! We also surprised all of our guests with late-night chicken biscuits before the send-off.

Our honeymoon

We decided to wait a bit before taking a real honeymoon, but we did take a mini-moon. We spent four days in Destin, FL at the Henderson Park Inn. It was especially sentimental because we had taken our first vacation as a couple there seven years prior.

Best part of the planning process

The process was a little stressful, but after the all is said and done, I find myself missing it! I’d have to say my favorite parts of planning were dress shopping, floral, and finding little ways to make it our own.

What’s next for us

We just welcomed a new member to our family! His name is Benjamin and he’s a 10 week old Golden Retriever. We can’t wait to show him the world!

Our Wedding Album

The happy couple

After not seeing each other all day, spending hours getting ready, and finally getting hitched, Nick I were so relaxed for photos. It was super easy for us and felt like it was just us two out for a stroll!

Wedding party

This was taken right after the ceremony! There was this huge exhale and feeling of excitement to get the party started!

I knew I wanted to find my dress early on in the planning process to alleviate any stress. This was actually the third dress I tried on ever! I saw the Martina Liana Style 690 hanging up and immediately fell in love with it. I walked away with it that day and only made very minimal alterations. Woohoo!

Nick custom made my engagement ring and almost spent a year designing it. Yadav was incredible to work with and made my matching band as well. Nick was incredibly low maintenance and opted for a tungsten steel band via Amazon Prime!

Our ceremony took place under a huge tree with the vineyards in the background. We decided with a simple white fabric draped over the branches because of the simplicity and elegance. This photo was taken right after I had walked down the aisle. We had asked my cousin to officiate about 7 months prior and his mother (my aunt) had no idea until this very moment!

All the bouquets, table greenery, and decor were designed by Stylish Stems. I wanted mostly blush pinks, creams, greenery, and a pop of navy with anemones in the bouquets. The groomsmen and groom all wore a simple white anemone accented with seeded eucalyptus. The centerpieces were repurposed bouquets along with 8 ft runners made of Italian ruscus and silver dollar eucalyptus. Sliver votives and cylinder glass vases on each table all held candles.

This was right after our first dance together! Dinner took place inside at long, wooden tables with runners of lush greenery and candles. The dance floor was outside on an open-air veranda with string lights and vineyard views.

Our favorite moment

My favorite moment was when Nick and I ended the night by walking through a tunnel of sparklers. Having all of our loved ones see us off gave us both a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation. It was the perfect ending to the night and the perfect beginning to our marriage!

Our favorite wedding photo

This is one of my favorite photos from the day. I remember it so well. We were both just revelling in being married. We were so incredibly grateful that all of our friends and family had come out to see it happen. And we were truly just living in the moment, trying to soak everything in.
